Silver Byzantine Chainmaille Necklace

I bought the book "Great Wire Jewelry some time ago for the instructions on Viking Knit but liked the look of the Byzantine chainmaille in it. I kept thinking about making some and finally plucked up the courage to order silver jump rings from

Triangle beads

I made these beads some months ago but couldn't decide what to put with them. I finally decided to add smaller beads and swarovski crystals.

DH still thinks it looks like a donkey. I find the mouth difficult to do but the jaw is much better.

Beige cabochon with green seed beads

I made this beige cabochon a couple of months ago and originally beaded it with brown and gold seed beads but wasn't happy with the way it turned out. It sat around for a while until on the spur of the moment I decided to pull off all the other beads and re-bead as in the picture.

My Form of Fibula

I was messing around with some silver wire tonight and came up with a variant of the fibula type of pin.

The large central bead has copper mesh enclosed in it to form the bunch of grapes type motif. It does work as I've tried it in my blouse with the pin hanging vertically.

Rolls-Royce Families Day 2008

On the 14th of June, Roll-Royce had an open day. They tend to run one once every couple of years with Airbus on the same day for the families of employees to take a look around the site and see some displays (Airbus is located just over the road from Rolls-Royce in Bristol). This year was on odd one without Airbus to give families a look around the new site and the new buildings that have now been built as part of the site regeneration. I went along as it was too nice a day to stay inside and the displays can be interesting.

I tried taking some panoramic photos of the site while there and the image below is one of them. This building can be seen by the public from the A38 - the other main panoramic image I took is not visible from a public area so I won't be posting it.

KAT Bracelet

Something for a special person. I may need to make it slightly smaller depending on the size of her wrist.

Thursday's Bead

I keep trying to perfect my skills and am reasonably pleased with this session of beadmaking. I particularly like the central one but each of these takes me about half an hour to make.

Today's Beads

I ordered some Triton Double Helix glass because everyone is raving about the colour effects it can produce. Here's a bead with just Triton glass

The two lighter patches in the middle are the reflections of my daylight light bulbs and shades so you can see what a great mirror finish you can get.
