I'm making bracelets lately and this one is made from brass jump rings bought from The Dragonfly Company.
and heres a close-up,
I saw an illustration in a bead magazine and thought I might make something similar.
The black crystals have small copper bi-cones on either side and the spacers are seed bead cubes. Here's a close-up thumbnail.
These beads are temporarily strung in the hope that they might be purchased and turned into a necklace. The string is 19.5 inches long and has a crimp at either end for now.
I bought the book "Great Wire Jewelry some time ago for the instructions on Viking Knit but liked the look of the Byzantine chainmaille in it. I kept thinking about making some and finally plucked up the courage to order silver jump rings from The Dragonfly Company.
Here's the finished article,
I made these beads some months ago but couldn't decide what to put with them. I finally decided to add smaller beads and swarovski crystals.
Here's a further development of the picture I posted a couple of days ago,
DH still thinks it looks like a donkey. I find the mouth difficult to do but the jaw is much better.
I made this beige cabochon a couple of months ago and originally beaded it with brown and gold seed beads but wasn't happy with the way it turned out. It sat around for a while until on the spur of the moment I decided to pull off all the other beads and re-bead as in the picture.
I was messing around with some silver wire tonight and came up with a variant of the fibula type of pin.
The large central bead has copper mesh enclosed in it to form the bunch of grapes type motif. It does work as I've tried it in my blouse with the pin hanging vertically.
Just trying out directly linking to my picturetrail account.
Here's another bead I'm currently wearing
On the 14th of June, Roll-Royce had an open day. They tend to run one once every couple of years with Airbus on the same day for the families of employees to take a look around the site and see some displays (Airbus is located just over the road from Rolls-Royce in Bristol). This year was on odd one without Airbus to give families a look around the new site and the new buildings that have now been built as part of the site regeneration. I went along as it was too nice a day to stay inside and the displays can be interesting.
I tried taking some panoramic photos of the site while there and the image below is one of them. This building can be seen by the public from the A38 - the other main panoramic image I took is not visible from a public area so I won't be posting it.
